The actions of Carnegie Hero Timothy Carpenter epitomize the Carnegie Medal, according to U.S. Rep. Steve Chabot, who presented the medal to Carpenter, of Cincinnati, in a ceremony held May 15.
“We are fortunate to have individuals like him living in our community,” stated Chabot in an online post about the presentation. Chabot represents Ohio’s first district.
In 2015, Carpenter went to the aid of a woman who had been stabbed repeatedly. As the man began to attack Carpenter, stabbing him twice, Carpenter disarmed him and held him down until police arrived. The woman later died of her injuries, and Carpenter required hospital treatment, but he recovered. Read more.
