Hero recounts rescue to high school seniors

Carnegie awardee John Hale and Rabbi Richard Kirsch of the Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School in Livingston, N.J. Hale recently spoke with students at the school about his rescue of a man from attacking dogs on Jan. 14, 2013.

Carnegie Medal awardee John Nash Hale, left, of Toms River, N.J., joined the Hero Fund’s director of external affairs, Douglas R. Chambers, for an assembly at Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School, Livingston, N.J., in May 2015.  It was a repeat performance, as both men visited the school last year, both times Hale describing to the high school seniors his actions of Jan. 14, 2013, by which he intervened in a dog attack on his neighbor.  Shown with Hale is Rabbi Richard Kirsch, sociology teacher.
