Abraham T. Matthews, 34, laborer, saved Benjamin H. Wright, 2, from being run over by a train, Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, July 24, 1910. Dashing to the track 40 feet in front of an approaching train, Matthews placed one foot in the middle and, with both hands, grabbed Benjamin, who stood on the track bewildered. He swung the boy and himself off the track just as the train rushed by, the bumper-timber grazing his hand. 5421-500
