Ade Peska, 41, signal maintainer, saved Margaret Moreland, 72, from being struck by a train, Bangor, Michigan, March 26, 1928. Mrs. Moreland started to walk slowly over a railroad crossing as a train running 20 m.p.h. was approaching. Peska ran about 17 feet to a point between the rails to Mrs. Moreland, picked her up in his arms, and carried her off the track. He cleared the train, which did not reduce speed, by about 15 feet.
