Adolph Arnholdt, 34, weaver, died attempting to save Earl Johnson, 8, from drowning, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 3, 1908. Arnholdt swam 50 feet from the bank of the Schuylkill River to Earl, who had fallen in the water and, being grabbed around the neck by the boy, was unable to free himself. Both were drowned.
