Albert B. Williams rescued Yetta Harris from assault, Rolling Meadows, Illinois, December 17, 1986. Mrs. Harris, 67, and her husband were attacked in their apartment by a man armed with a knife. A next-door neighbor, Williams, 77, retired chef, heard Mrs. Harris scream and went to the apartment. He entered, grasped the assailant, and pulled him away from Mrs. Harris. The assailant slashed Williams with his knife, then threw him onto a table. As the attacker approached Williams, another neighbor entered the apartment, causing the assailant to flee. Mrs. Harris required hospitalization for her extensive stab wounds. Williams was treated for his knife wounds and a broken rib, and he recovered.
