Albert E. Flatt, 18, roundhouseman, saved Curtis W. Ayers, 9; Walter E. Todd, 10, and Arnold W. Wood, 10, and attempted to save Nathan B. Ayers, 11, from drowning, Port Morris, New Jersey, December 6, 1905. Flatt broke through the ice on Lake Musconetcong while going toward the boys, who were in the water. He broke the intervening ice with his fists and succeeded, after being in the water 15 minutes, in getting all but one upon the ice. 1041-151
