Albert S. Purcell attempted to save Raleigh J. Martin and Charles Davis from drowning, Lunet, Arkansas, May 10, 1932. Purcell, 51, filling station operator, who was fully clothed, waded and then swam a few feet through deep water to Martin, 29, and Davis, 24. After being submerged in the struggle, he finally freed himself from Davis. He was weak and winded and trod water until he got hold of the pole. (See case of CHARLES DAVIS.)
