Albert Sutherland, 67, crossing watchman, saved an unidentified girl from being killed by a train, Blue Island, Illinois, August 22, 1928. A small girl ran upon a crossing and stopped close to the rail of a track on which a passenger train was approaching at a speed of 35 m.p.h. Sutherland, who was not very active, ran across the track to her and carried her frorn the track. When he cleared the track the locomotive was about 15 feet from him. 28973-2343
