Albert W. Cinniger, 40, lawyer, saved Mabel F. Riley, 37, from being killed by an electric car, Lorain, Ohio, December 11, 1915. In an effort to signal the car, which was advancing at a speed of 25 m.p.h., Miss Riley fell on the track 90 feet ahead of it. Confused by her fall, she attempted to scramble backward off the track. Cinniger, who was running after her, continued 15 feet to a point on the track between her and the car. He seized Miss Riley’s coat sleeve, jerked her from the ground, and carried her back off the track. They barely escaped the car as it passed with its brakes set in emergency, and the car ran 175 feet past the scene. 15866-1149
