Alexander J. Bonner, 25, signpainter, saved William L. Decker, 28, bill-poster, from impending fatal injuries, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, March 25, 1909. Bonner saw Decker falling headfirst from a window 20 feet above the ground and ran onto the flagstone sidewalk, with outstretched arms. Decker struck him on the chest, and he closed his arms around him and fell backward on the sidewalk with Decker on top of him. Decker was unhurt, but Bonner suffered a compound fracture of both bones of his right leg and was incapacitated over four months. 3782-507
