Alfred Semonis, 49, patrolman, saved Janet H. Marshall, 16 months, from being struck by an automobile, Avon, Kentucky, July 1, 1944. Janet walked onto a roadway and stood in the path of an automobile, which was approaching at a speed of 45 m.p.h. Semonis ran 60 feet to Janet, without pausing picked her up, and ran off the roadway. The automobile brushed his hip as it passed, inflicting a slight bruise; and it ran 100 feet before it stopped. 40670-3488
