Anna Citron, 25, dressmaker, attempted to save Henry Goldberg, 21, tailor, from drowning, Peekskill, New York, August 15, 1925. While Goldberg was bathing in Crompond Road quarry pond he got into deep water 18 feet from the bank. Miss Citron, who was not strong, waded and swam from the bank to him. She was twice submerged by his weight and swallowed water. Goldberg then seized her arm, and they were submerged several times again in a struggle. She became almost exhausted, and a man then went to her from the bank and pulled her to shallow water. She was unconscious but revived. Goldberg was drowned. 25805-2231
