Arthur T. Christ, 17, office boy, sustained fatal injuries rescuing Charles A. Hetzel, Jr., 15, office boy, from burning, New York, New York, November 11, 1909. Following the explosion and rapid combustion of celluloid on the sixth floor of a factory, Arthur delayed his escape and went to Charles, who had become dazed. He dragged Charles to a door, which was closed, and, beating the glass out with his bare hands, helped Charles through the opening and followed himself, both being badly burned.
