August Schultz died saving Louisa Woerner from drowning, Brainerd, Minnesota, June 7, 1908. Schultz, 34, molder, jumped from the deck of a steamer, running 15 m.p.h. on Rice Lake, and swam 75 feet to Mrs. Woerner, 42, who had fallen off the boat. Returning to the boat with her, Schultz, almost exhausted, handed her aboard but then was struck by a piece of the railing that broke off, and he sank. 2717-220
