Bennie G.Holbrook helped to save William F. Frenzel from burning, Charles Town, West Virginia, May 24, 1972. When the small airplane in which they were riding crash-landed in a field, Frenzel, 46, aerial photography pilot, and Holbrook, 53, aerial photographer, both were injured; and fire broke out on one wing of the plane near the fuel tank. Holbrook was able to get out and move away from the aircraft, but he then heard Frenzel shout that he could not move. Returning to the plane, Holbrook freed Frenzel, who outweighed him by 65 pounds. He pulled Frenzel from the aircraft but was unable to move him away from the plane, on which the flames were spreading. Two men driving on a nearby highway were attracted. They moved Frenzel a safe distance from the airplane, which soon afterward was completely engulfed by flames. 53057-5979
