Bernard L. Findley, 28, locomotive engineer, attempted to help save Byron D. Wells, 18, laborer, from drowning, Minetto, New York, June 7, 1913. (See case of W. ROY MAYNARD.) Findley went out on the rope when Maynard called for help. After being swept from the rope, Findley drifted 500 feet downstream and was then reached by men in a boat.
