Carl F. Wagner, 14, schoolboy, died attempting to save Anthony Geraci, 11, from drowning, Rochester, New York, May 29, 1909. The boys, on a raft, had drifted 25 feet from shore in the Genesee River when Anthony, unable to swim and fearing for his safety, jumped into the water, which was 50 feet deep. Carl immediately sprang to his assistance but was grabbed by him, and both were drowned. 3928-357
