Carl Forsyth saved an unidentified woman from drowning, Baltimore, Maryland, July 29, 1925. The woman jumped from a bridge into the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River 780 feet from the bank. It was dark. Forsyth, 22, production inspector, who was almost fully clothed, dived from the bridge to the water, a drop of 39 feet. He swam a few feet to the woman and took hold of her. She resisted his efforts to aid her and struggled considerably while he swam 185 feet with her to rocks at a pier. As Forsyth lifted the woman upon the rocks, he collapsed from weakness in shallow water. Men arrived in a boat and drew Forsyth out of the water. Forsyth and the woman were revived. 25485-2168
