Charles A. Kuhr, 25, chauffeur, rescued Lena Krueger, 16, from a runaway, Cincinnati, Ohio, June 10, 1911. Kuhr grabbed the bridle and rein of a runaway horse hitched to a runabout containing Lena and was dragged 100 feet when he fell to the asphalt street, the front wheel of the runabout passing over his leg. He jumped to his feet and caught up with the horse again after it turned a corner, guided it toward the curb, and succeeded in stopping it when the runabout struck a fire?plug and threw the horse to its knees. Kuhr fell to the sidewalk, and his legs were badly bruised. Lena was unhurt. 6823-497
