Charles A. Walz, 31, structural iron worker, helped to save M. Lillian Creamer, 23, from drowning, Atlantic City, New Jersey, June 20, 1915. (See case of J. ZOPHAR HOWELL.) Leaving the end of a rope with two men on the beach and instructing them to pull when he should signal, Walz swam to Lillian with the other end. When it was found that the two men had released the rope, Walz continued to help Howell support Lillian, and his jersey was torn in the struggle that ensued. He was much fatigued when he regained wadable water but soon recovered. 15224-1182
