Charles B. McCracken saved Jamie D. and Tracey R. Buret and helped to save Cheryl L. Buret from burning, Olympia, Washington, October 26, 1985. Mrs. Huret, 26, and her daughters, Tracey, 9, and Jamie, 2, were in the cab of a pickup truck that caught fire after a highway accident. After seeing the accident, McCracken, 30, bricklayer, ran to the truck and forced open the passenger door. He removed Jamie and then Tracey to safety, then returned to the truck. With flames inside the cab, McCracken entered it with another man who had arrived; together, they freed Mrs. Huret, who was unconscious, from beneath the steering wheel and pulled her from the truck. Within moments the cab was engulfed in flames. Mrs. Huret was hospitalized with multiple injuries. Tracey recovered from a cut. 60753-7057
