Charles C. Stollings rescued James A. Ellis, Jr., from burning, Medina, Ohio, August 26, 1975 . When he was involved in an accident, Ellis, 33, sustained serious injuries and slumped unconscious over the steering wheel in a pickup truck, the front end of which was afire. Stolllngs, 40, trainman, ran to the truck, on which the flames had spread to inside the cab and were burning Ellis. Opening the door, Stollings removed Ellis, who later died as the result of his injuries. Stollings had sustained burns on both hands.
