Charles Dikran Weston helped to save James M. Bryant from burning, Morgan Hill, California, March 28, 1983. Bryant, 26, was unconscious and trapped in his burning car following a highway accident. As flames issued into the front-seat area, Weston, 30, draftsman, completely entered the car twice to free Bryant, but he was forced out each time by heat, smoke, and increasing flames. A third time Weston entered the car and, with the aid of two other men, was able to free Bryant. They removed him and took him to safety shortly before the car was engulfed in flames. Bryant recovered from his injuries.
