Charles H. Cosgrove, 30, tool-dresser, died saving Grace E. Rentschler, 29, and Ethel Kuhns, 21, from drowning, Center Point, Indiana, August 4,1907. Unable to swim, Cosgrove waded into a pond to within a few feet of a boat from which the women had been upset. Then, jumping to where the water was 8 feet deep, he gave the boat a shove and twist, which righted it and enabled the women to reach a fence. Cosgrove sank and was drowned. 1892-216
