Charles H. J. Pickett, 14, schoolboy, saved Luther M. Nauman, 16, schoolboy, from drowning, Laceyville, Pennsylvania, August 13, 1910. Charles dived from a boat into the Susquehanna River and swam to Luther, who was struggling at a point 60 feet from the bank in water eight feet deep. Luther, from behind, grabbed Charles around the body under the shoulders, but the latter, screaming for help, freed himself and supported Luther until several boys in the boat reached them and took both to the bank. 5513-515
