Charles L. Curvin, 38, laborer, died attempting to save Clayton Groom, 64, laborer, from being killed by a train, Goldsboro, Pennsylvania, February 19, 1920. Groom and Curvin were standing on a railroad track watching a passing freight train. Another train was approaching them at a speed of about 45 m.p.h., and when it was about 100 feet from them, Curvin suddenly became aware of its approach. He jumped back and then leaned forward to grasp Groom, but both were struck and instantly killed. 20285-1628
