Charles L. White saved Albert D. Alldredge from an enraged bull, Cassopolis, Michigan, March 6, 1925. As Alldredge, 38, farmer, was about to take hold of a chain attached to a bull to lead it, the bull charged, knocking him down and carrying him 30 feet to the wall of a barn. The bull then butted Alldredge against the barn. White, 23, farmhand, ran to the bull and tried without success to get it away from Alldredge by prodding it with a fork. He then threw the fork away and took hold of a ring in the bull’s nose and led it 15 feet from Alldredge. The bull kept butting White and then knocked him down. As the bull was standing a few feet from him and about to charge, White got to his feet and ran to a fence. As he got one leg over the fence, the bull attacked and kept butting his other leg against the fence. Finally White pulled loose and fell on the opposite side of the fence. He was bruised but not severely. Alldredge was seriously injured but recovered. 25321-2131
