Charles R. Boughton, 25, caller, attempted to save Georgiana F. Schlicher, 42, and Charles W. Veeck, 6, from being killed by a locomotive, Dennison, Ohio, August 1, 1914. Drawing Charles Veeck behind her in a small wagon, Mrs. Schlicher walked onto a track upon which a locomotive was approaching at a speed of 27 m.p.h. Boughton ran across the track, seizing her arm as he passed her. The locomotive struck her and broke Boughton’s grasp. He passed safely out of the path of the locomotive, but Mrs. Schlicher was dragged 40 feet, sustaining fatal injuries. The wagon was upset, but Charles Veeck was not seriously hurt. The locomotive stopped 200 feet past the scene. 13566-1231
