Charlie E. Kennedy, 44, contractor, attempted to rescue Henry C. Paden, 26, clerk, from electric shock, Harrison, Arkansas, February 20, 1931. Expecting to be shocked somewhat, Kennedy cautiously held the handle of the mop between the thumb and forefinger of one hand and to test the effect held the handle against the wire between Paden and the high-tension wires. He received no shock. He then grasped the handle firmly with both hands, hooked the other end on the wire, and jerked the wire from Paden’s hand. He received a shock, was thrown 10 feet from Paden, and fell on his head. He sustained a cut on his head from his fall but was not otherwise injured. (See case of ORMAN LEE PETTIT.)
