Chester A. Seguine, 39, plumber, saved Ruth M. Shank, 22, from being shot, Denver, Colorado, September 16, 1925. Just before daybreak, Miss Shank’s father shot and killed her brother and mother with a rifle. After trying to protect her mother, Miss Shank fled to the street followed by her father, who was trying to shoot her. As Miss Shank was struggling to push aside the rifle, Seguine, unarmed, jumped through a window of his home, ran to them, and caught hold of the father and the rifle. After struggling strenuously for at least five minutes, Seguine finally disarmed the father. 25695-2245
