Christopher Gerard Napp rescued a man from assault, Hamden, Connecticut, February 22, 1995. A 56-year-old man was being stabbed repeatedly by another man who had followed him into a restroom in a building on a college campus. The victim yelled for help, attracting the attention of Napp, 18, college student, who was nearby. Napp approached the assailant from behind, grasped him, and pulled him off the victim. Napp then disarmed the assailant, took him to the floor, and, with assistance from another student, restrained him until police arrived shortly and arrested him. The man was hospitalized for treatment, including surgery, of multiple stab wounds.
