Clair B. Baker, 34, switchman, helped to save Archie O. Ramsden, 19, telegrapher, and William A. Salisbury, 35, compositor, from drowning, Albany, Oregon, July 16, 1911. (See case of WILLIAM A. SALISBURY.) When Salisbury called, Baker, who was also tired from the race, swam 80 feet to the scene. He placed his foot against Salisbury, pulled Ramsden away from him, and swam to the bar, holding Ramsden by the hair. He then returned and helped Salisbury to the bar. 7340-1154
