Curtis C. Wright, 18, student saved Scot Johnson, 15, student, from drowning, Fort Smith, Arkansas, May 13, 1911. Wright swam 100 feet against a strong current to Scot, who, panic stricken, was struggling in the Arkansas River where the water was nine feet deep. He supported Scot several minutes until a boat reached them, and they were taken from the water in a very weakened condition. 6682-596
