Curtis L. Bradley attempted to save Harry H. Kerrison from drowning, Troy, South Carolina, June 20, 1924. While wading in a pond, Kerrison, 42, druggist, who could not swim, got into deep water. Curtis, 12, schoolboy, swam 30 feet to him and grasped his hand. He tried to pull Kerrison, who was a very large man, toward him, but his hand slipped from Kerrison’s. Before Curtis could take another hold, Kerrison grabbed his hand, but the hold was insecure and they became separated. Curtis let himself go under water and rose six feet from Kerrison, who sank and was drowned. 24414-2121
