Dana R. Moody, 34, taxicab company manager, attempted to save Louis J. Wetzel, 24, laboratory assistant, and saved Maye V. Robinette, 18, from drowning, Hunter, Tennessee, June 15, 1930. Moody removed part of his clothing, waded a few steps from the bank, and swam 55 feet to Wetzel and Miss Robinette. After separating them, he supported Miss Robinette as she struggled frantically and swam 35 feet toward the bank. A man then swam to them from the bank to aid but was grasped by Miss Robinette and became frightened. Moody then pushed the two as he swam 15 feet farther to wadable water. Miss Robinette was taken to the bank by the man, and Moody swam 40 feet to the point of Wetzel’s disappearance, went under the surface, and groped for Wetzel but without success. He was then greatly fatigued and swam to the bank. (See case of LOUIS J. WETZEL,)
