Danh Van Le rescued James E. Williams from assault, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, October 19, 1985. Williams 47, police officer, was arresting a man in a game room when the man turned on Williams and seized his fully-loaded service revolver. The assailant pointed the gun at Williams and pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire. As Williams struggled with the assailant atop a pool table for control of the gun, Le, 25, telephone company technician, who was watching nearby, jumped onto the table. He pinned the assailant’s gun hand to the table, then removed the gun from his grasp. Le jumped from the table with the gun, then, with others, returned to the struggle and helped Williams subdue the assailant.
