Daniel H. Penney helped to rescue Roger R. Bossence from burning, Sidney, British Columbia, August 20, 1986. Bossence, 44, was the driver of a car that caught fire following a highway accident. Penney, 45, entrepreneur who lived nearby, heard the crash and went to the scene, where he joined a woman in attempting to remove the unconscious Bossence through the driver’s window. Penney then entered the car through the passenger door and freed Bossence’s foot, which was caught. Another man arrived at the scene; he and the woman maneuvered Bossence through the window while Penney pushed from inside the car.
