Dominic Possamai rescued Michelle J. Mignault from assault, Lennoxville, Quebec, August 20, 1986. Miss Mignault, 28, was sunbathing when a man approached and stabbed her. She struggled with the man, screaming. Possamai, 22, salesperson,, who lived in the neighborhood, heard her screams and immediately ran to the scene. He grabbed the assailant and pulled him away from Miss Mignault, then began to administer first aid to her. The assailant approached again, threatening them, but he was shortly apprehended by arriving police. Miss Mignault was hospitalized for her stab wound, and she recovered.
