Earl F. Munnell, 23, woodworker, died attempting to save Arthur Walber, 28, pressman, from drowning, Spring Lake, Kentucky, July 4, 1916. Walber waded into a deep hole and became distressed 30 feet from the bank of the Licking River. Munnell swam to him and dropped under him as though to carry him. Munnell remained under the surface, and Walber finally sank. Both were drowned. 16716-1260
