Earl R. Albert died attempting to save Kathryn M. Haussman from drowning, Camden, New Jersey, April 16, 1927. Miss Haussman, 19, fell from a wharf into deep water in the Delaware River and drifted 30 feet. Fully clothed, Albert, 28, cable splicer’s helper, jumped into the water from the wharf and swam 10 feet toward her and then sank. He was drowned. Miss Haussman was rescued by others who arrived later. 27196-2167
