Edgar L. Price attempted to save Wesley W. Davis from drowning, Orillia, Ontario, June 7, 1919. Wesley, 10, fell from a pavilion into Lake Couchiching, and his struggles carried him to a point 10 feet from the pavilion, where the water was six feet deep. Edgar, 14, schoolboy, dived from the pavilion and swam under water to Wesley. He took hold of Wesley and started to swim with him, but Wesley grasped Edgar tightly around the neck with both arms. The two boys struggled, and Edgar was unable to free himself or to swim with Wesley. A man reached them as they were sinking and swam to the pavilion with them. 19715-1745
