Edward Priestner, Jr., died attempting to save Ezzell Daniels, Jr., Karen E. Daniels, and Ezzell Daniels, Sr., from drowning, Sanford, Florida, July 25, 1985. Ezzell, Jr., 17, and his sister Karen, 16, were wading in the Wekiva River when they stepped into deeper water, floundered, and called for help. Their father, Ezzell, Sr., entered the river for them, but he too began to flounder. Apparently hearing the commotion, Priestner, 25, store manager who was working nearby, went to the river bank. He entered the water for the family, as did a woman who also was nearby. As the woman took the father toward the bank, she saw that Priestner had submerged. She dived for him and helped to take him to the bank, but he could not be revived. Ezzell, Jr., and Karen were taken to the bank, nor could they be revived. 60601-7023
