Elmer G. Costich, 24, student, saved Edna E. Bauman, 21, from drowning, Kings Dock, Ontario, August 22, 1927. Costich waded from the bank and swam 15 to 20 feet to Miss Bauman but could not swim back to the bank with her. He supported her as they were carried farther from the bank by the current, and they were rescued by a man, who took a boat to them. Costich was nearly exhausted. (See case of JOHN E. BURNS.)
