Emmitt H. Cline, 14, school-boy, died attempting to save Frank Fulton, 10, from drowning, Parkersburg, West Virginia, June 13, 1937. While wading on a submerged sand-bar in the Ohio River, Frank got into water 10 feet deep 25 feet from the bank and bobbed up and down. Cline ran from the bank onto the bar, dived and swam a few feet to Frank, and took hold of him. He swam 10 feet toward the bank, Frank squirming in his grasp; and then Cline sank.
