Eric J. Prindle helped to save Henrietta K. Beyke from burning, Xenia, Ohio, June 25, 1988. Miss Beyke, 83, was incapacitated inside her burning car after a highway accident. Prindle, 35, police officer, was on duty a block away when the accident occurred. He ran to the scene and extended his upper body through the passenger window of Miss Beyke’s car as flames issued from the rear half of it. Prindle grasped Miss Beyke and began to pull her out. Another man arrived, grasped Miss Beyke’s legs, and helped to remove her. Within seconds the car was engulfed by flames. Miss Beyke was hospitalized five weeks for her Injuries.
