Everett H. Stanifer, who saved Michael B. Foley from being burned, Ross, Ohio, February 2, 1976. While Michael, 2, and his five-year-old brother were alone in an aluminum house trailer, fire broke out in the kitchen area. The brother left and alerted Stanifer, 48, senior tree trimmer, and his co-worker; and both ran to the door of the trailer, in which flames then filled the kitchen area and were spreading in the living-room section. Stanifer dropped to his knees and, guided by Michael’s crying, crawled to him. Carrying Michael, Stanifer hurried to the door and emerged from the trailer.
