Frank E. Donbar, 34, passenger agent, saved Anna B. Miller, 59, from being run over by a train, Avalon, Pennsylvania, January 8, 1913. Donbar, inside the station, saw Mrs. Miller, who was hard of hearing, go onto a track on which a passenger train was due to pass the station. He ran outside and up the platform toward her. When the train was about 600 feet from Mrs. Miller, and 50 feet farther from him, he ran onto the track, and when he reached her, he grabbed her and swung her toward the platform. He tripped on the rail, and both fell on the platform just as the train passed them at undiminished speed. 11954-890
