Frank Leon Leggett saved Amanda, 36, and E. Louise Davis, 5, from drowning, Sheldon, Texas, July 11, 1926. Partly clothed, Leggett, 22, stenographer, who followed close behind another man, swam 25 feet from the bank and took hold of Mrs. Davis. She grabbed him, and a struggle followed in which Leggett was submerged at least once. He then swam 15 feet with Mrs. Davis, who held to Louise, to some exposed rocks near a pier. Leggett was fatigued but soon made unsuccessful efforts to find the other man’s body by diving. (See case of CHARLES JOHN TRAUTWEIN, JR.) 26441-2190
