Fred L. Clark, 40, farmer, died attempting to save George C. Baker, 17, schoolboy, from drowning, Genoa, New York, September 15, 1929. While George was swimming in Salmon Creek, he became distressed in deep water. Clark, who was fully clothed and was a poor swimmer, swam from the bank 20 feet to him, took hold of him, and tried to swim toward the bank. He was unable to make progress, and both were drowned.
